Ruminating......
This morning 4 o'clock, I completed my program the course of OS required, even though it is quite small, I know a principle in programing that the most crucial point is thought, IDE is quite easy to learn since u have accumulated plenty of programing thought. I had never touch C++ builder ever, however, it just cost me one afternoon to know the basic usage of most control tools.
Another thing, I always feel my time is not enough, and am not able to fulfill my daily plan. Maybe this relate to my low efficiency. Last time I had a chat with a girl from RUC, she seems can handle with G, and has some leisure time.
By the way, I post my newly finished issue, it is about some philosophic problem and kind of difficult for me. I appreciate someone could help me to amend it and analysis if it has some logic error.
91. "Most people think that their deeply held values are the result of rational choice, but reason often has little to do with the way people form values."
大多数人认为他们深信不疑的价值观是理性选择的结果,但是理智往往对于人们形成价值观几乎根本不起作用。
According to the statement, most people would like to attribute the form of their values are based on their rational choice, but as a matter of fact, such reason usually has little to do with the way people form values. As far as I concerned, in the process of forming one’s value both the socialization and rational choice take effects, and the socialization lead the predominant role in this process.
It is the culture in which we live that provides us with values. Each nation in the world, even region, has its own culture, as a result the people in that nation influence by this culture deeply, and are possess of quite similar characteristic, consequently, they have formed quite similar values. An obvious instance at hand is that China is a well-known country, which owns nearly 5 thousands years history, in such 5 thousands years it came into being a kind civilization symbolized with Confucianism. Most of people in this country surrounded by this culture have formed a similar value that they are supposed to have filial piety and give their respect to the senior. In the contrast, America, a country with a comparatively shorter history and migration from all of the world have much more multitude cultures, thus the values of the people there is quite different from one to another.
Moreover, most people spontaneously follow the values that the culture has formed. Everyone is a member of the society, his or her value will more or less accord to that current value of that culture. When referring to their surrounding objects, most people would like to evaluate depend on whether the value of their society accept it or not. They have little his point on it but adopting the society’s.
Nevertheless, there are quite a few people who form values that possess their own characteristic according to the value of that time, particularly in contemporary society. Through conceiving the current value of the society, some young people would like to erect their own value, even though probably such value is not sensible choice. They may just pursue the personality of themselves, but no one can deny that the form of such value is not acquired by their rational choice. As a result of the form of some new value, the value of society is developing constantly.
Taking all the factors into account, we may arrive at the conclusion that in the process of forming one’s value both the socialization and rational choice take effects, and the socialization lead the predominant role in this process.
